Cindy Royal is an associate professor at Texas State University in San Marcos. She completed Ph.D. studies in Journalism and Mass Communication from The University of Texas at Austin in May 2005. At UT, she focused on the effects of the Internet on communication and culture. Her dissertation was on how gendered spaces frame women's relationship with the Internet. Prior to doctoral studies, Cindy had a long career in Marketing at Compaq Computer in Houston and NCR Corporation in Dayton, OH. She has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Richmond and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Cindy lives in Austin and loves to do all the things that make Central Texas great: live music, kayaking on Lady Bird Lake and eating at food trucks and taco stands. She hosts her own concert review Web site, On That Note, and enjoys working on other Web design projects. Lewis Knight, teaching assistant - Lewis, a Ph.D. student at UT (and a master's grad from Texas state) is the Owner/Operator of Knight Line Productions, and has been in the media industry since 1978. He's been operating in the Houston Market since 1980. First with KUHT, then as /producer of Good Morning Houston, the Number One rated show of it's kind for eleven years, as Producer of "Jan Glenn Productions", for a year, and finally Knight Line Productions, since late 1991. His research interests include digital media determinism and media sociology, and he has worked with the ReportingTexas.com project.
